Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s highly anticipated memoir Becoming officially hit stores and bookshelves on November 13th and it is already one of the most talked about books of 2018. As of Wednesday, Obama’s Becoming is at the top of Amazon’s best sellers list.
In February, our former FLOTUS announced her book would be hitting stands soon and ever since there has been serious buzz. Many places even decided to do pre-orders for the long awaited memoir to help customers get ahead start on purchases. Barnes and Noble recently confirmed that Becoming received the most pre-order sales of any adult book since 2015’s Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. Becoming also had the largest first day sales in Barnes and Noble history.
The in depth and poised look at Michelle’s life was globally released in 24 languages and there’s even an audio edition dictated by Obama herself. Upon release of Obama’s memoir, 1 million copies were donated in the Obama family’s name to First Book, a non-profit that works to get new books and quality learning material for in need children in the US and Canada. Mrs. Obama is currently on her sold tour and has even opened up shop selling apparel related to her and her memoir.
